Lincoln and Waltham Receive MassDEP Grants

The MassDEP recently awarded $3.1 million in grant funding to 268 municipalities and regional solid waste districts under the Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP). Waltham received a $2,000 Small-Scale Initiatives Grant and Lincoln received a $3,150 Recycling Dividends Program grant.

This year, 226 communities qualified for the Recycling Dividends Program (RDP), which recognizes municipalities that have implemented policies and programs proven to maximize the reuse and recycling of materials, as well as waste reduction. As part of this SMRP grant round, 42 municipalities will be awarded a Small-Scale Initiatives Grant to help communities purchase modest, but critical recycling materials.
