Resolution

City Council Resolution

Whereas, the City of Waltham is uniquely positioned with a strong corporate tax base, large tracts of open space, historic landmarks, two working farms, a downtown river, world class universities, strong public school system and a broad diversified population.

Whereas, local citizens, consumers and business men and women have expressed concern with our community’s vision, communication, project delays, storefront vacancies, crime and missed economic development opportunities.

Whereas, several efforts to address these concerns have been initiated by the Waltham Tourism Council, Downtown Waltham Partnership, Waltham League of Women Voters and the City Council Zoning Review.

Therefore be it resolved, that the City Council review and explore alternatives as to how Waltham manages projects, coordinates and encourages economic development.

Respectfully, Thomas M. Stanley Councillor-at-Large
